There are very few non-Saudis left in this city, but there are some. But still, it's amazing that I can send actual florist type flowers to my husband back home. I have to find good reasons to stay here every day, but there's a lot to be done, so I feel like it's my calling. I hope the flowers I send helps to make the space between us a little smaller. And that's why I'm writing to you. If you think that flowers are all about big celebrations and newlyweds trying to impress each other, you're wrong. I have a lot of people around me, but it can be kind of lonely as the only American working in this office. I love my job, but I sometimes miss following sports and talking to American girls. It's nice to stay in touch with e-mail , but it's much more satisfying to send and receive flowers as a gesture of effort to stay in touch. It would be a better symbol of effort if it actually took any effort on my part to order from you. But, like they say, it's the thought that counts. My mother and I thank you for the flowers. I sent them to her for her birthday to be delivered to her house, but there was an accident, and now she's in the hospital. I appreciate that I was able to change the address before they got sent, because she hasn't been back at her house for a while now.
