It’s late, but I wanted to write and tell you that the flowers really did come for my father’s birthday. I had been calling and calling your office to make sure they had arrived, and they hadn’t yet. It turned out that they got there before I even called the first time, and my father was enjoying them, but the nurse’s station got the wrong room. After that it was just a comedy of errors. My great-grandmother’s funeral was much more sober than any other funeral I’ve been to (to many of them), and I couldn’t figure out why. Finally, it dawned on me, the flowers were wholly inappropriate for the setting. They were the whole color, the wrong style, and too ostentatious for the scene. I found out that the person in our family who normally orders the flowers (from you) had asked someone else to do it this time, and he ordered from someone else.
