The first time I ever received roses, I was still in high school. It was exciting and frightening all at the same time to get them from a boy. You know, I still get that same little twinge when my husband brings or sends me flowers. Don't take this the wrong way, but where he gets them from doesn't matter much to me. I have a lot of people around me, but it can be kind of lonely as the only American working in this office. I love my job, but I sometimes miss following sports and talking to American girls. It's nice to stay in touch with e-mail , but it's much more satisfying to send and receive flowers as a gesture of effort to stay in touch. It would be a better symbol of effort if it actually took any effort on my part to order from you. But, like they say, it's the thought that counts. I had screwed up every anniversary gift since we were married. Last year, I got my wife what she asked for... in the wrong size. That was a disaster. I thought flowers would be the safe choice this year. You know, nothing ostentatious or gaudy, just something small to say how much I appreciated being married to this wonderful woman. I'm very appreciative that your phone operator took the time to help me choose a bouquet. I didn't think it would get much of a reaction other than not letting me screw up another gift. But I got the warmest reception from a present that I ever got from her. I guess that wasn't too hard, since my other gifts really stunk it up, but I'm appreciative that you took the time to hold my hand through the process to get something really great. You have to tell me your secret. How come my delivery of flowers arrived right on time when others didn't arrive at all? I assume we all used FTD affiliated places, but only I used you. There was a snowstorm and not even the phones were working. I didn't even know they had arrived until a couple of days later when my friend called around to let everyone know she was OK.
