I just sent some Valentine's Day roses to someone I've been admiring from afar for a while now. As I am writing this they are on route to him, and I don't know how he's going to react. I don't know if it's such a good idea that you have same day delivery, because it doesn't give me a chance to think everything through before things start to happen. I'm getting ahead of myself, I know, but I can't help it. I have all of this nervous energy, wondering what the reaction will be. I order from you all the time, and now I know why. I have to tell you that I was away on business recently and stopped into a flower shop near the hotel instead of ordering online. I ordered the same arrangement I usually get for each of my six nieces, Irises and white roses, but this time the flowers were not nearly as impressive. Valentine's Day is one of those days where if you have someone to send flowers to, you're happy, but if you don't then you aren't. This year I decided to send out a number of Valentine's flowers to some female acquaintances that I thought I might like to get to know better. As I am writing this, I don't know if any of these will pan out, but I'm glad there was a resource such as you that gave me the opportunity to try something like this. Too many times, I've found myself sitting at home on the computer instead of outside enjoying the landscape and the people. I've found that if I think about the people in my life back in the US that I want to keep in my life, I have more ability to meet new people and experience new things. That's the whole reason why I took this job, was to experience a different culture. I want to let you know that you help me doing that, even if that's a selfish reason for sending flowers, it helps me think of the people that I want to keep in my life for when I go back, whenever that might be. Is there some kind of large population of patient souls where you get your customer service people from? Do they also babysit for a trio of tiny terrors (ages: 3, 6, & 8)? I must have been on the phone with this person (I forget her name, sorry!) for at least a half an hour trying to order a simple flower arrangement and I have to chase around my terrors (I mean: lovely children) at the same time. My mother visited for a short time last spring, and she noticed something completely new, for her anyway. She noticed that there was this celebration called Mother's Day that everyone takes so seriously. Now she demands that she be treated like an American mother and have flowers and cards and calls and gifts sent to her. All this so she can say that her daughters in America recognize that she is an American mother by proxy or something. She's funny about things like that, but I guess it's always a good thing to make your mother happy with something so simple.(Adrienne I., Yerevan )
