I know you can't see it, but there's a big smile on my face because I finally got my father to break his long silence to my brother. They haven't seen eye to eye for years and have spoken in at least that long. I was able to get them together for my birthday, and the way I convinced them to come was to send each of them a note from me along with bouquets of flowers. It was the last thing I could think of to do, because these are not normally two men who would be affected by flowers. My fiancee and his friends, for some odd reason, decided to take a cross-country trip to California and back. Just to remind him why he's coming back, I decided to send flowers to him at each of their stops along the way. I sent a total of eight bouquets of yellow flowers, four over and four back. I know it completely embarrassed him in front of his friends, but I figured if he was able to withstand them for that amount of time in that situation, he was the right guy. He was the right guy. The flowers I sent to my son and daughter-in-law for a congratulations on purchasing a new house actually got there. I mistakenly sent them to the new house address without thinking about escrow and even move-in time. I couldn't be there in person because I'm overseas, so I had to suffer through a night of thinking, "what did I forget?" It didn't hit me until my son called to say they were very appreciative of the flowers I sent. It was then that I remembered giving the wrong address on the form, and I became more confused because they actually got delivered to the right place. I'm bursting with pride at my kids being able to afford houses and I'm also red in the face because I can't even figure out where they are now!
