I can't remember the last time a gift was delivered so smoothly. Maybe it's the fact that it doesn't need to be wrapped in order to feel like a gift. I see my aunt Dierdre maybe once a year because she lives in Pennsylvania, but I always get the same greeting about how I sent a nice little vase of lilies to her for her 25th anniversary. (Yes, I know it's silver, but what can you do?) It's getting to be a little embarrassing. I just wanted to say that the bouquet I ordered for my parents’ anniversary arrived right on time and touched my mother to tears. It was a special order of white and yellow rosebuds, which my dad used to give to her every Saturday when they were dating. They both have the same visual theme of the red crossing through the white field, but the two of them together at the funeral said just the right thing without having to use any words.
