Too many times, I've found myself sitting at home on the computer instead of outside enjoying the landscape and the people. I've found that if I think about the people in my life back in the US that I want to keep in my life, I have more ability to meet new people and experience new things. That's the whole reason why I took this job, was to experience a different culture. I want to let you know that you help me doing that, even if that's a selfish reason for sending flowers, it helps me think of the people that I want to keep in my life for when I go back, whenever that might be. I felt kind of weird at first ordering flower displays for a funeral over the Internet. It's interesting what kind of preconceptions we have about such things. I was always under the impression that it would somehow "mean more" if I were to do that in person at a flower shop. Well, I went to a number of flower shops before going online to order from you, and it didn't feel right getting the hard-sell from them. That might be unfair because they're in business to sell flowers, but still, that's how I felt. I wasn't all that close with my Uncle Tommy, but it's sad when anyone dies, so I can only imagine how someone must feel talking to salespeople who are constantly trying to "sell them up" to more and more expensive pieces. I don't mean to sound like I dislike salespeople. But it's just easier in the long run to come to these decisions on your own. My confession is this: you weren't my first choice for sending flowers, but you were recommended by my assistant, who I guess had had a good experience. I wouldn't have even told you about this, but my initial hesitation was based on the my experience with other Internet delivery companies. I'm glad I was wrong about you, and I'm glad my assistant was right. I don't know if your partnership with FTD was responsible for that (I don't think that really has much to do with it).
