I had to take more than a few calls from people who asked me to send them again because the fruit was actually rotten. Flowers are so much more tactile and have more substance than cards or electronic messages, like they are stand-ins for you. I admit I was nervous about ordering from an Internet company. But everything turned out OK. Better than OK, actually. I'm telling you this because the flower arrangement that I sent to my mother is still going strong after all these weeks. She has called me just about every other day since then. To tell you the truth, I don't know if that's a good thing or a bad thing. But she mentions the flowers every time. They're just so impressive. It's absolutely lovely that a Brit who lives in Brazil can send flowers to Australia from an American company. This is a brave new world we live in, and I, for one, absolutely love this part of it. But I find that there are distinct benefits to living at this time in history, like FTD for example.
