Though I am far away from my friends, it's nice to know that I can let them know I am thinking about them in a time of sadness and loss. Flowers are so much more tactile and have more substance than cards or electronic messages, like they are stand-ins for you. She didn’t like a big show, and I always thought she would have disapproved of them. Unfortunately, my mother died this year. I work with people all over the world, so it's important that I get whatever to wherever.
