Who invented Valentine's Day? He must have been some kind of genius. It's right in the middle of winter when we're all busy trying to keep the winter chill out of the house. I think it's because it's one day where we can forget about things like de-icing the driveway and block heaters and shoveling the sidewalk. Thank you for helping my sister-in-law celebrate her 30th birthday in style. She's never really been a part of our family in any meaningful way, even though she tries I think my brother has managed to shield her from much of the family nonsense that might help bring us closer. We all got together for her birthday, without my idiot younger brother, and we realized that the flowers helped break the ice when we got there.
