The first time I ever received roses, I was still in high school. It was exciting and frightening all at the same time to get them from a boy. I was surprised to see that my mother decked out the whole house for a hanukkah celebration, because I didn't know they would be going all out for me. It was very gratifying that though they couldn't say that they supported my choice, they were showing support anyway.
