It would be wonderful if we all got the wedding of our dreams, but alas, where I wanted to married at the botanical gardens, my father's budget dictated that we get married at the Elks Lodge. I thank you for putting some joy into the life of one of my closest friends. Sadly, she passed away from cancer recently much too young. She often said that it was as if I were there, and she would talk to the flowers as if they were me. My status as a second daughter in my family means that I am usually the left out one. I’m forced into the kitchen with my mother and aunties even though I have no idea how to cook.
