The hospital is not a fun place to be over the Holidays. I know, because I lived through it once. My dad spent last Christmas in hospital recovering from bypass surgery. So I wanted to send something to let him know we were all thinking of him. I wish I could have been there, but we're scattered throughout the world and we never really see each other during the holidays because traveling is so frightful nowadays. More often than not we see each other in the spring, celebrating nothing in particular, because it's much more bearable. I apologize if this sounds like my life story. All I really wanted to point out was that I thought the floral arrangement I send turned out wonderful. My mum clicked a few images for me to see, and I noticed how much fuller and more colorful they seemed than what I remember from the picture on your website. I have a lot of people around me, but it can be kind of lonely as the only American working in this office. I love my job, but I sometimes miss following sports and talking to American girls. I decided to be audacious this year and send my boyfriend, who is in Peru with his family for the moment, a series of flower bouquets. One a day for a week until his birthday. I know you can't see it, but there's a big smile on my face because I finally got my father to break his long silence to my brother. They haven't seen eye to eye for years and have spoken in at least that long. I was able to get them together for my birthday, and the way I convinced them to come was to send each of them a note from me along with bouquets of flowers. It was the last thing I could think of to do, because these are not normally two men who would be affected by flowers. I was so sick to hear of my sister-in-law's mother. She died of emphysema. It wasn't exactly unexpected, but it was still a shock to the family. My brother has taken it a bit hard also. I really wish I could have been there, but circumstances prevented. I was glad that I could at least be able to send flowers to their house. They were very gracious about them and I think my brother was most pleased.
