Sheesh, you'd think someone would take the hint and at least send me something. Flowers are so much more tactile and have more substance than cards or electronic messages, like they are stand-ins for you. It's something they can move around and focus on in order to get the kind of feeling that I hope I would provide were I there. Boy was I disappointed. I guess I just got lucky the first time.
