I wanted to tell you that there's a new mother that appreciated the delivery of flowers to her bedside. My granddaughter entered the world last week. Sadly, the father could not be there because he's in Afghanistan. I saw the flowers arrive, and I saw the gleam in my daughter's eyes because she knew instantly who they were from. I saw the card and I thought I would share this with you because I was a little surprised that someone in Afghanistan could order flowers that look as nice as these. I would never have thought to send flowers to my brother to congratulate him on getting a new job. Before I sent him flowers, I wouldn't have suspected that he liked getting them. Maybe he wouldn't have suspected that either. But that was his day when he first went to work. He had the flowers right in front of him as he described the view from his office window. The “broken heart” flower stand arrangement was just perfect for my brother’s funeral. He died after a long, lingering illness, so it wasn’t a shock, but we wanted to think of it as an end to his suffering.
