There's one thing I've found about sending flowers. It has to be the right ones at the right time. There is a general understanding about what kinds of flowers mean what, so when I send red roses, I want it to mean love, and when I send white roses, I want it to mean friendship. When I send mixed colors... I'm not quite sure what that means yet, but I'll get it eventually. My point here is that I am grateful you get everything, every order right. There's a new mother and baby that would like to thank you for the lovely and elegant dendrobium orchid delivered shortly before the baby was delivered. It was the first gift to arrive and it was waiting for me in the room when we all got back. I am writing this on a palm computer in the hospital. I wanted to indicate my appreciation to you, and I am also feigning being busy with something while my mother-in-law is trying to talk to me about the correct raising of my child. I've been dreading this moment, but she's the one who sent the orchid, so I guess I'll eventually have to sit through this lecture. Thank you for being a purveyor of beautiful things. I wish someone had told me about you earlier. I don’t like talking about this, but the flowers at my grandmother’s funeral last year were unnecessarily gaudy. She didn’t like a big show, and I always thought she would have disapproved of them. Unfortunately, my mother died this year. I had used you before for birthdays, so I thought it couldn’t be worse than what my grandmother had. Valentine's Day has special significance in our house because it was the day that we closed escrow six years ago. It was a very trying time, trying to sell a house and buy a house at the same time. She's no longer with us, but my husband now has taken over sending flowers to me from work: roses and lilies in the same flower arrangement.
