Flowers are so much more tactile and have more substance than cards or electronic messages, like they are stand-ins for you. The “broken heart” flower stand arrangement was just perfect for my brother’s funeral. He died after a long, lingering illness, so it wasn’t a shock, but we wanted to think of it as an end to his suffering.
