Thank you for getting everything about my Mother's Day flower order right. My mother-in-law is a (ahem) terror about her relationship with my husband. I know the flowers that I sent to her probably won't change that. But my father-in-law called to say that her wife absolutely went gaga over them. Even she couldn't find flaws with how they were delivered or how they looked or the thought behind them. This could have only happened if you got everything right. I've always been ambivalent about Valentine's Day, mostly because nothing ever happened. It's only recently that I've been in a serious relationship that has lasted through Valentine's Day, so maybe that has something to do with it. In any event, this last Valentine's, I was actually in a relationship, so I wondered what would happen. Societal attitudes, I guess. I got her some candy, and she got me some flowers. But not just any flowers. They were these eye-popping spring flowers with full fragrance and very pretty. Of course, they were your flowers, which is why I'm writing to you. Your flowers were just the pick me up that my sister-in-law needed. She's undergoing chemotherapy for cancer and there is a lot of time spent just trying to get through. People help, of course, but I think flowers help in a different way. I just sent some Valentine's Day roses to someone I've been admiring from afar for a while now. As I am writing this they are on route to him, and I don't know how he's going to react. I don't know if it's such a good idea that you have same day delivery, because it doesn't give me a chance to think everything through before things start to happen. I'm getting ahead of myself, I know, but I can't help it. I have all of this nervous energy, wondering what the reaction will be.
