We had a combination Christmas and Chanukka this year, so we had arrangements of blue and white flowers intermixed with arrangements of red and green flowers, just like our family. I was so sick to hear of my sister-in-law's mother. She died of emphysema. It wasn't exactly unexpected, but it was still a shock to the family. My brother has taken it a bit hard also. I really wish I could have been there, but circumstances prevented. I was glad that I could at least be able to send flowers to their house. They were very gracious about them and I think my brother was most pleased. I decided to be audacious this year and send my boyfriend, who is in Peru with his family for the moment, a series of flower bouquets. One a day for a week until his birthday. The reason it was so audacious is that his family is in the florist business and use FTD every day. I’m not sure if they were sending the flowers to themselves down there, but the gesture has warmed them to me (finally), and I’ll be seeing Gabriel very soon.
