My status as a second daughter in my family means that I am usually the left out one. I’m forced into the kitchen with my mother and aunties even though I have no idea how to cook. Although I have to say that my gift of flowers and balloons to the mistress of the house didn’t get me out of kitchen duty, it did get me some extra time with the men in the family as they were impressed I was able to spend so much on a deceptively gorgeous gift. This may sound a little silly, but I hope it doesn't. My best friend's cat died over the weekend, and I couldn't think of anything to do for her being so far away with work and all. The best thing I could think of was to send a nice sympathy bouquet. I know how close she was to that cat, and I didn't really know how to say that in words. So I let the flowers do the talking, just to let her know that I was there for her. She did eventually share her feelings with me, and I'm glad I could help. The plant I sent for my son's new apartment was perfect for it, even though he didn't think so. Boys at some point dislike their mothers giving them gifts. But he later called me and said that it was the only thing with a personality he'd had over in a long time. I sent him another one from your website, and he didn't "like" that one either.
