I called her up to find out what was going on, and she told me that she suddenly realized that she had a wonderful daughter. I almost wish there was a camera there to catch the expression on my face. Well, they're sitting on my kitchen table right now, two months after I received them. Two months! Every time I look at them, I remember what my mother said, and that has been for a long time. She fawned over it, even though we've never been close. I think she was impressed by the flowers more than the thought of it because at first she didn't recognize the name of the person who gave them to her (mine).
