Two of my best friends in the world died this year. We're all getting on, and our families are taking care of us more and more. I just wanted to thank you for being as professional as you are about something many people find superficial and extraneous. Though some people I know consider flowers and floral decoration to be just that, decoration, I see it as more of a gift that celebrates the beauty of life. I know you can't see it, but there's a big smile on my face because I finally got my father to break his long silence to my brother. They haven't seen eye to eye for years and have spoken in at least that long. I was able to get them together for my birthday, and the way I convinced them to come was to send each of them a note from me along with bouquets of flowers. It was the last thing I could think of to do, because these are not normally two men who would be affected by flowers. Hopefully, they regarded me as their reason for coming together, but the flowers helped if only to impress on them just how serious I was. Thanks.(Maria D., Madrid )

I had screwed up every anniversary gift since we were married. Last year, I got my wife what she asked for... in the wrong size. That was a disaster. I thought flowers would be the safe choice this year. You know, nothing ostentatious or gaudy, just something small to say how much I appreciated being married to this wonderful woman. I'm very appreciative that your phone operator took the time to help me choose a bouquet. I didn't think it would get much of a reaction other than not letting me screw up another gift. But I got the warmest reception from a present that I ever got from her. I guess that wasn't too hard, since my other gifts really stunk it up, but I'm appreciative that you took the time to hold my hand through the process to get something really great.
