I know you can't see it, but there's a big smile on my face because I finally got my father to break his long silence to my brother. They haven't seen eye to eye for years and have spoken in at least that long. I was able to get them together for my birthday, and the way I convinced them to come was to send each of them a note from me along with bouquets of flowers. It was the last thing I could think of to do, because these are not normally two men who would be affected by flowers. I wish someone had told me about you earlier. I don’t like talking about this, but the flowers at my grandmother’s funeral last year were unnecessarily gaudy. She didn’t like a big show, and I always thought she would have disapproved of them. Unfortunately, my mother died this year. I had used you before for birthdays, so I thought it couldn’t be worse than what my grandmother had. I feel strange saying this, but I think both of them would have really loved the flowers and arrangements that your people put together and delivered to the chapel for the service.
