It would be wonderful if we all got the wedding of our dreams, but alas, where I wanted to married at the botanical gardens, my father's budget dictated that we get married at the Elks Lodge. I'm not complaining, really. In fact, it worked out perfectly and everything went off without a hitch -- so I've been told. I understand you folks did the flowers and I wanted to tell you how well they all went over. I've been to weddings, and the flowers all seem to be in the background because they're so expected. Well, your flowers were just lovely enough to be a part of the whole scene and also understated enough not to overwhelm everyone. I didn't have anything to do with choosing you for the flowers, so I don't know how useful this comment is, but I was impressed and I thought you should know that.(Yvette G., Elkhart IN )

My friends know how much I love flowers as I always have something growing out of a vase at home. They always comment on how stunning they look, but should I tell them I buy them from you? I want to be the one in my circle with the best flower arrangements!(Neil Pearson, Minneapolis MN )

I don't trust any flower shop that doesn't use FTD. I also don't trust any flower shop that messes up an order, no matter how small or big. My business, at bottom, is about persuasion, and if my persuasive powers are undermined by a poorly delivered PR gift, then I look bad, which makes you look bad. I say this as a theoretical, because I have never had occasion to complain about any bad things: The fact is, there haven't been any bad experiences I've had sending gifts to other businesses, provided I use you folks.(Kirk V., Prescott AZ )

I tried several florists both on the phone and online while looking for flowers to surprise my wife with on our 25th anniversary (and boy was she surprised!) and one thing struck me about you – you knew exactly what I wanted straight away. Thanks very much for helping us have such a happy anniversary.(Wilson Hutchinson, Philadelphia PA )

You know, I think most men send flowers when they've really screwed up with their women. It's a fact of life, I think. So it's a great service you're doing here, making ordering flowers so easy that even a man can do it. Yes, that's a joke. Seriously, I think you guys are great. Keep it up.(Debra V. , Harlingen TX )

As a society, we tend to send flowers out of feelings of guilt for not being in a place we would normally be. Before the advent of automobiles and airplanes, we wouldn't stray too far from home (except in a few cases), and so we didn't have a need for sending gifts through the mail, or the Internet, or using FTD, or some other wire service. But we are products of our times, and because even nuclear families are so far flung, and because husbands and wives often live and work on different continents from one another, we have this need to send gifts to one anther in lieu of being there. What we're acknowledging is that we usually do what we can to make compromises between how we would like to live and how we would like to be close to one another. It's apparently socially acceptable to be apart like this as long as we can send each other things that remind us of this emotional connection even though there's no physical connection. ROCK ON, BROTHER!!!(Rey V., Nagoya )

I don't think it's entirely fair that all my friends and family get to see the lovely flowers that I order from you, and I get to see bupkus. Not even a lousy picture. Sheesh, you'd think someone would take the hint and at least send me something. I hear from them about how wonderful and lovely my gifts are by calling me and sending me e-mails, but do they take a picture, or better yet, send me flowers back? It's a thankless task being as nice as I am. Oh, well. At least your task isn't thankless. How do I know? Because I'm saying thank you right now!!!!(Delia C. , Tucson AZ )

My uncle's death was very hard on my cousin, his daughter. I'm glad I was able to give her a little indication that there were people in the world who cared about her and what she was going through. I sent her a sympathy basket of plants and told her that I was there if she needed me. Thanks for providing something that will last a longer time.(Nancy G. , Albuquerque NM )

Thank you for allowing me to send flowers that are as impressive as my fiancee. He deserves more, but this will have to do for now since we're both in graduate school and practically living in the library. (Divine E., New Haven CT )

Your flowers were just the pick me up that my sister-in-law needed. She's undergoing chemotherapy for cancer and there is a lot of time spent just trying to get through. People help, of course, but I think flowers help in a different way. It's important to give reminders of what kind of beauty there is in the world and what there is beyond the hospital walls to live for. I just want to give everyone who works there a hug. Thanks.(Bonny F. , Missoula MT )
