The flowers I sent to my son and daughter-in-law for a congratulations on purchasing a new house actually got there. I mistakenly sent them to the new house address without thinking about escrow and even move-in time. I couldn't be there in person because I'm overseas, so I had to suffer through a night of thinking, "what did I forget?" It didn't hit me until my son called to say they were very appreciative of the flowers I sent. It was then that I remembered giving the wrong address on the form, and I became more confused because they actually got delivered to the right place. I'm bursting with pride at my kids being able to afford houses and I'm also red in the face because I can't even figure out where they are now! I have dealt with certain delivery companies before who could not handle a slight discrepancy in the address with any smarts at all. It seems like if two numbers in a zipcode are transposed, it stops them in their tracks and they delay a couple days and charge you half again as much. I admit that I sometimes get zipcodes wrong. My memory isn’t what it used to be. But someone over there recognized the mistake I made on a flower delivery and it didn’t slow them down a whit. I wish I knew who it was, because I would thank them from an old woman, so I’m saying thank you to you for possibly training your flower delivery people that way.(Bonita R. , Houma LA )

Though I am far away from my friends, it's nice to know that I can let them know I am thinking about them in a time of sadness and loss. Flowers are so much more tactile and have more substance than cards or electronic messages, like they are stand-ins for you. It's something they can move around and focus on in order to get the kind of feeling that I hope I would provide were I there. I'm glad that you can help me express my sympathy for the family in this way and that I can do it much more easily than if I were to go there myself.
