I know you can't see it, but there's a big smile on my face because I finally got my father to break his long silence to my brother. They haven't seen eye to eye for years and have spoken in at least that long. I was able to get them together for my birthday, and the way I convinced them to come was to send each of them a note from me along with bouquets of flowers. It was the last thing I could think of to do, because these are not normally two men who would be affected by flowers. If there's a better way to get a woman to be initially impressed with you than flowers, I'd love to see it, because it would knock my socks off. I think men have a problem seeing this. I have heard a number of men say something to the effect of "They're just flowers, they don't do anything and they'll die too soon." I'd like to correct any misinterpretation that every man out there may have about sending flowers. These are not valid reasons for not giving flowers. I don't get it. OK. I have to tell someone about this. I was in the running for a good job at a reputable company. After a series of interviews that went OK but not spectacular, the recruiter told me I was a finalist out of five people. I’ve never done this before, but my mother told me to send flowers. I thought, what the heck? So I did. I skiffed over to your site and sent everyone who interviewed me a small bouquet as a thank you. About a week later, I got the job. Now, I’d like to think that it was my stellar experience and mad skills that got me the job, but I’m glad that those flowers may have given an extra push to the people on the interviewing committee.
