Valentine's Day is one of those days where if you have someone to send flowers to, you're happy, but if you don't then you aren't. This year I decided to send out a number of Valentine's flowers to some female acquaintances that I thought I might like to get to know better. I decided to be audacious this year and send my boyfriend, who is in Peru with his family for the moment, a series of flower bouquets. One a day for a week until his birthday. Sometimes it seems like my children have all left me for their better lives in other places. At least they find time to let me know they are doing OK. I have been receiving flowers on my birthday and the American Mother's Day for several years. That is a nice custom I think.
