My status as a second daughter in my family means that I am usually the left out one. I’m forced into the kitchen with my mother and aunties even though I have no idea how to cook. Although I have to say that my gift of flowers and balloons to the mistress of the house didn’t get me out of kitchen duty, it did get me some extra time with the men in the family as they were impressed I was able to spend so much on a deceptively gorgeous gift. I just wanted to say that the bouquet I ordered for my parents’ anniversary arrived right on time and touched my mother to tears. It was a special order of white and yellow rosebuds, which my dad used to give to her every Saturday when they were dating. Though some people I know consider flowers and floral decoration to be just that, decoration, I see it as more of a gift that celebrates the beauty of life. Because of some credit card issues, I used more than one flower delivery company to order some accent flowers for a Christmas family celebration.
