Is there a worse holiday to miss than Mother's Day? I sailed right over it last year, and I suddenly noticed a palpable sheet of ice in my mother's voice over the phone ever since then. I think you've tapped into something here, about how people react to flowers and in what context they receive them probably affects how they are received.
