It’s late, but I wanted to write and tell you that the flowers really did come for my father’s birthday. I had been calling and calling your office to make sure they had arrived, and they hadn’t yet. It turned out that they got there before I even called the first time, and my father was enjoying them, but the nurse’s station got the wrong room. After that it was just a comedy of errors. The way my family celebrates Christmas, you would think it was Festivus. My dad always tries to challenge someone to wrestle and we have a tinsel lined pole in the back yard that I used to practice tetherball on. I don't know if my parents have developed a sense of humor or we're all really warped. I'm glad I was able to bring some semblance of normalcy into Christmas, though, with the flowers that I sent ahead of time. The “broken heart” flower stand arrangement was just perfect for my brother’s funeral. He died after a long, lingering illness, so it wasn’t a shock, but we wanted to think of it as an end to his suffering.
